Go Tell it on the Mountain!

“Whatever you do for the least of these, you do unto Me.” Matthew 25:40

One of my favorite songs in our Preschool/Kindergarten Christmas program is “Go Tell It On The Mountain”. My heart just smiles every time this group gets to the chorus and their sweet little voices enthusiastically belt out the message:

“Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere
Go tell it on tell mountain that Jesus Christ is born!”

Help Is Coming!

All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”). Matthew 1: 22-23

Thanksgiving Cleanup!

“Give thanks to the Lord for He is good; His love endures forever!” Psalm 136:1

So the conversation started with the painful statement, “Mom, with this new job, I don’t think I’m going to be able to make it home for Thanksgiving!”

As my children have evolved into adulthood, I have been forced to become accustomed to change. Those treasured family memories of everyone always being together have become more sporadic due to employment, relocations, and marriage. However, this would be the first Thanksgiving without our youngest in attendance!

11th Annual St. Matthew Turkey Trot

"Whatever you do for the least of these, you do unto Me." Matthew 25:18

For many years, St. Matthew Lutheran Church has supported MOST Ministries, a non-profit Christian agency that sponsors short-term mission trips across the world by sending funds as well as volunteers. Dramatically affected by COVID for the past 18 months, MOST is thrilled to have seven teams deploying before this year ends.

Leaving Your Footprints

It was one of those family times where everything was going so well! Our family was gifted with a beautiful home right on Suttons Bay for seven days, and for four of those days, job schedules allowed for our entire family to be all together in the same location.

How to Handle Unwanted Guests

"Remain in Me, and I in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself but must remain in the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in Me." John 15:4

My middle son is a travel nurse, which means that every 12 weeks, he travels around the country to a new hospital assignment. As challenging as it is to start a new job every twelve weeks, this lifestyle does have its perks such as: the opportunity to make many friends, traveling all around the United States, and becoming a minimalist since everything you own has to fit inside your car/truck.
