“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away.”
Rev. 21:4
Over my 26 years of serving as an administrator, each day has been filled with many precious memories and stories. However, this particular story remains one of my absolute favorites:
Many years ago, one of our previous second grade teachers asked her students to draw a picture of what they thought heaven would be like. Some students drew pictures of angels and clouds. Many sketched people singing around Jesus. However, she was a little curious when she noticed the picture posted above this article. When she inquired the young artist about his masterpiece, he replied, “You know that feeling that you get when you hit a homerun? That’s the feeling that I think you will always have when you are in heaven!”
What a perfect illustration to describe the joy that each of us will experience one day when we are face to face with Jesus!
As we review everything that occurred throughout this school year, we are reminded how often God blessed us with numerous “homerun” moments! Our year began with the installation of new playground equipment. In addition, every classroom received a brand new Smartboard, while students in grades K-2 received brand new Chromebooks. Faithfully, God blessed our efforts to raise funds for MOST Ministries ($7,198.97), Oxford victims ($470), refugees from Ukraine ($6,239.82), and our current effort for World Vision. We are grateful that we have been able to continue sponsorship for Maya, our World Vision sponsor child from Zambia, and Virginia, our Compassion International child from Indonesia. And just a few weeks ago, we were able to perform “Frozen Jr.” for almost 600 guests! These are just some of the highlights of the 2021/2022 school year!
However, as wonderful as all of these experiences were, eternity is still the ultimate goal. Throughout all that occurred this school year, your child’s relationship with Jesus remains the most important.
It is our prayer that your child will continue to have many “homerun” moments in their spiritual journey. With Christ as our team manager, we look forward to the next 2022/2023 season and all of the great plans that He has waiting for us!
In His Love,
Mrs. Palka
